It's no WTF at all if it's intentional. And you just can't tell.

RE: Char-to-String conversion
Sorry for not following the comments, but..
Reminds me my previous WTF job (C++) where it was a popular trick to use strcpy to set a string empty. Like
strcpy( astring, "" );
I told my boss and senior coworkers that it would be more effective to write *astring=0 or astring[0]=0 but they didn't get it. -
RE: Beggars Belief
It's not that bad. It involves testing the camera, and the system workflow. If you were to pump jpgs to your DB that would be a totally different test, and that shouldn't be done with a few hundred pics, but should be run with an image count that is a multiple of the expected load, or simply run until crash.

RE: Getting on with the times
The RWTF is that AMD had no heat protection.
My AMD XP 1.6 CPU was once happily melting the stopped fans on it's heatsink, and although it reached 120 C, no problem occured in Windows - no "freeze" or anything.

RE: Get Baal Out of the Car
You can fix it easily, to give it a meaning:

29 days holiday a year here. It scares me thatsome people actually accept single digit holiday entitlements!
However, we do have a retarded sickness policy, based solely on occurances.Three separate days off ill? You're in trouble there, disciplinary time! Twenty days split into two two week illnesses? Great, that's fine! See you again if you dare be ill again, though!
We suffer from the opposit here. You get 70% of your salary for the sick days if your physician fills a form proving that you're sick. No time limit restrictions, and this system actually encourages you to stay at home and better pay a small sum for your doctor to fill that form for nothing. -

Ok, but how do you pronounce "C++0x" ?
Assuming you're joking, I'm answering anyway:
"See Plus Plus Oh Eks "
No, I was serious. After the story of C#, my imagination went wild on C++0x. My guesses were "seeplusplusnil", "seeplus-plusouh" and "seepoundouh".
I really thought that 0x had some special meaning. -
RE: WinMerge - Press any key
It's a worse WTF that you don't know what to expect when you click that button (or actually press any key).
Close? Continue? Pause? Stop? Make funny noise?
