RE: I can't get Back to My Mac!!
Wow, that's some poor service. Have to admit, this has me kind of concerned. I'm actually going to check with their server group to see if this has, in fact, gotten better. Definitely hope it has.

RE: I can't get Back to My Mac!!
Right, because Apple couldn't possibly offer a service to expedite onsite server support.

Hey, get your races straight; that's Rand McNally, not Poland.
Also, I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought it was George Bluth's blog from his hiding place.

RE: Netscape is the second most widely used browser
I haven't read this report yet, anything on the growth potential of Gopher or WAIS?

RE: When semantic extraction goes horribly, horribly wrong

RE: Save warning WTF?
I remember transitioning to PS8, some very strange quirks (the blinky Processing message vs. status bar). Agree on the backwards cancel, it took me a while to get used to it as well. Kev, you work for...Option-Shift-K?

The only thing better than the DIY camo paint is the pair of shop lights bolted on top of the hood.

That's so they can charge for bandwidth. Verizon calls it a "Megabyte charge".
Actually, the ad pictured came from Pandora's app, not from AT&T. This is a kind one, too, in that you can close it. Most ads in iPhone apps (or on iPhone-specific pages, for that matter) are served through AdMob (when written in by the authors of the app or page), not ATT.

Mind if I ask what tool you used to decompile/extract that?
I don't know for sure, but probably Sothink's SWFDecompiler. I picked up a demo when I was missing some .fla files, only problem is the demo doesn't output code (it's $79 for that privilege), but it seems to do what it does well. -
RE: The Old Black Apple Laptop
The old PowerBook G3s were phased out around 2001, so it's almost feasible that it could've been a Pismo. Wouldn't have been as funny, though.

PayPal URL Parsing
Thought this one was pretty interesting, haven't seen it covered yet. Was looking through some old PayPal receipts, noticed this at the end of one.

There's always ye olde Privacy Saemen. For those seeking artificial insemination, but are concerned with discretion, and big fans of ligatures.

Actually if you check their CSS (http://www.hostway.com/css/main.css) you'll see that they don't use black.
This. Just didn't turn off the anti-alias for the screen shot, but that deep into a bold font should show its true color, which, in this case, ain't black.

Here's another one on the same page:

That's not black.
