Who's looking for .net?

Heh.
Though you can't be sure what conclusion to slap on that.
Google Trends.
Hm.
Pretty cool.

OK, this is really starting to freak me out. My real name is Donnie (the name that the last two WTFs have been under) and I assure you that I didn't submit them. Now a Google Trends search reveals that Calgary, AB (the city in which I live) is the source of all searches for WTF. What's next? A photo of my car? A WTF involving the small company for which I work?

maybe because they just typed "google" in the address bar, and it automatically does an "i feel lucky" search

I'm not DrPizzaTop cities: Hyperabad, Bangalore
Top language: Russian
Conclusion: There must be huge Russian ex-pat communities in Hyperabad and Bangalore!

Try entering "java" and then compare the bar graph with the ".net" bar graph.
No one's shocked that Seattle shows up in the ".net" one, but how is it
that no American locations show up for "java"? I get pestered in
e-mail with Java opportunities in the US constantly.
Makes me think that volume of Google hits is not directly proportional to interest in a subject.

Google Trends is a Google Labs product, which means that it's still in
an early stage of development. The data Google Trends produces may
contain inaccuracies for a number of reasons, including data-sampling
issues and a variety of approximations that Trends makes use of. We
hope you find this service interesting and entertaining, but you
probably don't want to write your PhD dissertation based on this
information. We'll aim to update the information provided by Google
Trends monthly.</font></font></font></font></font></font>
