Alex, were you this client?

There's a story on Clients From Hell about someone doing a site redesign that works great on his own test server, but fails miserably in production using migrated data because the old site had 20,000 tags and the new CMS couldn't deal with it.

I don't see what the client did wrong there. Nor the dev, really. That's more of a "new developer mistake" I could see anybody making. The most damning thing about the client is... he sometimes suggested minor scope changes I guess then helped implement them? Poor baby.

There's only 4157 tags at the moment. (But there's been a lot more in the past when people were abusing the tags, hence the need for the occasional tag-purge as you're probably aware, having posted yourself on that thread.)

Great, I pop in for a second to check up on TDWTF and now I'm gonna waste half a day reading these. Thanks a lot.

As time sinks go, that one isn't too bad; they tend to be short, and they post < 10 a day. Have you come across Not Always Right and its siblings yet?@mott555 said:

I hate the ****** censoring that these sites use. Would it really affect anyone to see "bitch" or "fuck" in print?

I'll admit, I still find them hurtful to read in my annual performance review.

Censorship should only be used for redaction. Never for obscenities.

It also seems to have broken photon physics. The shadow is on the wrong side.
