This HAS to be a misguided auto-formatter. The rest of the code there is too sane to have been written by someone who would write that atrocity.

Well, the last time that happened to me was because the failed installation saved some borked registry keys such that every time i tried to install to a different drive, it would error out saying the short file path name is too long. Deleted all related registry keys and tried again and it worked fine...

Most languages don't allow anything but basic types for the switch condition, so strings are out. I know the .NET languages allow strings too, but most people used to other languages are probably not aware of that.
