• Re: Let's hope the guys from Cupertino never find out
Suppose you are a company from the eletronics sector, you operate only on a national level, you've been out of the market for almost a decade. Your top products were average TVs, CD players, and DVD players, and some (non-smart, obviously) cellphones. Then you are getting back into the game, you get the press ...

  • Re: A shortcut for resetting member variables, except not.

As a bonus, it will cause memory leaks if any of the members were pointers to anything that was new'd at any point during the lifetime of the class.

  • Re: Brain the size of a planet, and working with MC Hammer
I'm fed up of being expected to maintain someone else's mess with MC Hammer managing me. If I didn't write it, and can't rewrite it, I won't maintain it. Simples.
So, the WTF is you?

I don't want the juniors to feel bad about their work
TOUGH COOKIES, BUDDY.
Hey, I'm self-aware enough to know that I am not the smartest coder in the world. Therefore, there are people smarter than me, who can teach me useful things. Which, in ...

  • Re: What's Wrong with Indian HeadHunters?

I figure it's because they get a commission for each referral.  So it's in their interest to declare you a suitable candidate to... everybody.

  • Re: Nikita
In irksome sci-fis, they try to impress the audience with their ignorance: "Alright, quantum flurp the smuons field manifold converter and squark the tacheyon neutralino cannon!  We're going to break the quantum light speed barrier which they said was quanum unpossible until Xyro McFutureson ...

  • Re: Nikita

I enjoy the show the way I enjoy "24" or other popcorn thrillers.  There are all kinds of plot holes, but it's still cheesy fun. In the last episode, why not blow up the plane right away?  They sort of cover it by having Percy say "Rats, we should have blown it up" but why wasn't that their FIRST ...

  • Re: OS X Security Defaults WTF
1) The stuff leftover from it's *nix roots (Which Apple spends a LOT of time trying to wreck for usability)
Well, it all depends on how you look at it.  The whole reason OS X appeals to me is that it's essentially a Unix box that's easy to use.  I think that's a ...

  • Re: OS X Security Defaults WTF
I have Dropbox on it (that's what installed WTF 6), but I don't see how that helps me get files onto my web server. Which (in case it wasn't obvious) isn't running a copy of Dropbox.
I update web sites from my Mac via FTP too. I always just fire up Terminal and do it the old fashioned ...
