Spectate. You do understand that: "a mashup is a web application" right?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mashup_(web_application_hybrid) Do you understand that your VB abomination is not a web application? I cannot believe it... but I think you may have gotten even dumber...

About NetSquared: Our mission is to spur responsible adoption of social web tools by
social benefit organizations. There's a whole new generation of online
tools available – tools that make it easier than ever before to
collaborate, share information and mobilize support. These tools
include blogs, wikis, RSS feeds, podcasting, and more. Some people
describe them as "Web 2.0"; we call them the social web, because their
power comes from the relationships they enable.
Trolling is not a social benefit it is a social scourge. See tags for exciting anagram revelation ...

Thanks to this forum, I had some demo videos uploaded and ready to show. God, you are such an asshole. You came to this forum begging for help and you ended up insulting pretty much everyone, INCLUDING PEOPLE WHO WERE TRYING TO HELP YOU with your god-forsaken search app. Now you are back to [dish out | take] even more punishment, I see. http://www.netsquared.org/mashup For a better sense of what we mean, let's take a look at a few of our favorite Mashups. Go
ahead, click on the examples below. Read the "about" pages to get a
better sense of the project’s goal/mission, and how the site works.
(Yes, this is kind of technical, but we’re going to help make sense of
that. Enjoy!) - Maplight.org,
a winning NetSquared project from last year, displays the link between
money and politics by bringing together information about campaign
contributions and legislative votes.
- ChicagoCrimes.org is a browsable database of crimes in Chicago that lets users see information displayed on a map.
- ActiveTrails
shows visitors a list of active hiking and biking trails across the
United States. Users play a big role in supplying information.
- Tunisian Prison Map
pulls from a variety of sources to locate the prisons on a map and
links to videos and other information relating to the prisons.
Can you please explain how SSDS is ANYTHING like those examples?

WHOO HOOO the only thing better than quoting the OP is quoting the OP when the OP is SpectateSwamp. That has to be the most useless quote ever made!

I will assist in converting SSDS into a web app so you can win this. If you can get SSDS to export XML I will write web frontend with sweet AJAX-ness for it. We can use the entire Google web index as our data source, thereby qualifying as a mashup. That way we can once and for all prove the superiority of your search algorithms to the overeducated "engineers" at Google! TRWTF is referring to a programmer as an "engineer" -- railroads are so Web 1.0. / quoted the OP because normally it's retarded but in this case it needs to be heard! // I don't want any of the prize, you can have it all /// I have a dedicated box we can host SpectateSwamp Web Search [BETA] on!!

Jeez, calm down, friend. We're talking about a three line post here. Please explain to me how that is cluttering up your view. Besides, it had a relevance there, because CodeSimian didn't respont to the post before him. Or would you rather like him calling medialint an asshole? Yes, we all agree that SS is a hopeless troll, weirdo and most likely insane. We also agree that excessive posting can be annoying. Keyword being "excessive" here. But you exaggerate a little lately. You're starting to judge this forum by your own made-up rules only. And you demand that everyone else obeys to those rules. This is not your site, MPS and if you don't start to admit that soon, you'll end up in your own little world, not much better than SpectateSwamp.

Quoting the OP is always retarded. I did it above as a joke (you know, like the rest of my post) because this thread obviously only has value as a comedic outlet. I think MPS can have an annoying habit of posting somewhat useless junk (to inflate his post count?) sometimes, but he can be right-on sometimes as well. I seriously wonder what kind of code is written by people who aren't irritated by the inefficiency of quoting the entire fucking OP. Also, you need to take a joke, man. MPS has a very dry sense of humor and it can be grating sometimes, but some people here seem to have no sense of humor.

To be fair, you tried to call me out on my low post count a few days ago. I'm a longtime lurker, but I don't usually register for forums and I'm certainly no troll. I do think you post some pretty worthless crap sometimes, but when you are engaged in the conversation you can contribute as well as anyone. You respond to trolls like Lysis far too often, which only encourages their retardation. If you'd just leave him alone he'd probably go back to trying to figure out how to turn the safety off on his Glock and we'd all be better for it. Didn't mean to accuse you of anything, though, just my drunken ruminations. It doesn't help there is some new troll (Morbii) with a username similar to mine. Seriously, this forum needs some fucking moderation to deal with the douchebags. SS gets a pass, though, because he's just too damn amusing. BTW, Swampy, my offer to help convert SSDS into a fully-fledged web app still stands. I figure we can use the YUI library, as the second-worst programmer I've ever known is a lead developer for it. Seriously, this guy wrote the most WTFy code I think I've ever seen but I'm too lazy to dig out any examples of it.

Actually, if you notice, I never reply to Lysis. The same cannot be said for others... but again, oh well. morbiuswilters: If you'd just leave him alone he'd probably go back to trying to figure out how to turn the safety off on his Glock and we'd all be better for it.
Glocks don't have a safety to 'turn off' and please don't sully the good Glock name by implying that Lysis might own one. He strikes me more as the 13 year old you tube poster that posts about how 'gangsta' he is with his dad's .22 rifle. Makes you want to laugh, and cry at the same time. morbiuswilters:Didn't mean to accuse you of anything, though, just my drunken ruminations. Agreed, and I don't care if you were attacking me or not. Plenty of people flaming and trolling at and around me. I have a nice following of flamers who will just flame whatever I say without regard to content or context. I am ok with that. Doesn't bother me. I post and read here for the amusement... If I didn't enjoy it, I wouldn't keep coming back. Everyone else has that option as well.

Goddammit, beaten by my own ignorance of firearms again! It's almost like that time I... well, the court records of that are sealed, so it's best not to discuss it. Well, it looks like it's time for my backup fantasy: Lysis is a hemophiliac who works in a scissor factory. Mmmm...

I think the bigger laugh will come from how many people look for the history on SSDS and find the original thread, then register on the forums to rip it apart.
"The world of technical support is like a reflecting pool. To those who exist outside, it appears to be a deep, mystical place; bottomless, terrifying, foreign. The truth, however, is that the pool is only about three feet deep, and the bottom is grainy silt over sharp, hurty rocks."

He really seems to believe everything he is saying, he is not shy about posting his name, address, pics, and videos on the net, and he is extremely dedicated. Most trolls prefer anonymity, get bored very quickly and they (apparently) don't truly believe what they are writing. He has been "trolling" for at least 2 years, right? (Channel9, TDWTF, various message boards, etc.) Same with the Yellowhead election thing. He apparently actually went through the whole campaigning and speechmaking routine, even though he had no chance of winning. An "election troll" (there are always a few) would've just thrown his name in the hat, but then wouldn't have gone to the trouble of actually campaigning.

Spectate Swamp is California Dreaming
When I get to San Francisco for the Mashup Challenge. I'll look up some of my old haunts. I lived at the foot of Taylor st and Lombard. It was a 11 story appartment building with a pool. I arrived in January of 1979. Taking advantage of the pool. I was out each morning before work doing my laps. Nobody else was using the pool. It was all mine. 2 weeks later they turned the heat on. Then I got lots of company.

Re: Mashup Challenge $100,000 prize - WTF if Spectate Swamp wins?
PSWorx: MasterPlanSoftware:Just found it funny. Quoting the OP is useless, but anything SpectateSwamp has ever said didn't deserve to be read ONCE, nevermind TWICE. WTFx2.
BAM!!! Owned again! Our little hall monitor is feeling the control slip slip slipping away. Go ahead MasterAssat. Say "You will respect mah authoritah!"

Uuuuuuh actually, pull up the posts where MasterAsshat claims he was being sarcastic or humorous and it's when he is proven to be wrong. His response to giving bad information is "I was being sarcastic." LOL

SpectateSwamp:Wouldn't that be something, if I ended up as one of the 20
finalists? Yes, it would be "something". And that "something" would be "an obvious typo in the results". However, don't let us keep you from celebrating the imaginary victory that hasn't ever happened inside your own head.

MasterPlanSoftware:It was a joke... Let me explain, and completely ruin it:
Your skills in the realm of sarcasm have degraded to the point of nonexistence. Probably because you spend too much time responding to trolls, and sarcasm doesn't work on them. (Yes, that's a trollish thing to say but I'm not a troll. You just rub me the wrong way.)
