The movie character also happened to be the Stupidest Man on Earth (TM)

 I KNEW I had seen him somewhere before!

 When I saw that movie I'd, thank god, just shaved. Prior to shaving, I looked EXACTLY like that guy. I therefore escaped intense ridicule from everyone I had gone to the movie with.

 Man, I knew that character looked familiar. Good catch...

Where have you been? Not only has he been a hollywood actor, he's also a member of Electric Light Orchestra. He has since cut his hair, a first time in over 30 years.

Me too. Except I hadn't shaved. And went to see it in the movie theater. And I hadn't seen the posters or anything (household just kinda dragged me along) so I had no idea what I was walking into.

That movie was pivotal in my decision to lose the beard.
