Re: Mushroom Clouds (Plural)
SpectateSwamp:I hope your friend doesn't get a job around Whitecourt. Videoing One mushroom cloud. Then have an exact duplicate at the same spot 2 weeks later.
*Paging WeatherGod. WeatherGod, you're needed in the SpectateSwamp thread. Code blue* SpectateSwamp:And viewed by someone that isn't Crazy. That is a sign and a pretty big one. --- or two.
Or, the other person is also crazy. That's really not a big deductive leap considering they willingly interact with you. Don't be doing any video of beautiful clouds. If you play that footage back slowly. You might see something. Then what.
Then I'll get really excited and call out to my wife. "Woman, come look at this!" I'll shout. "What?!" she say, in a rather clipped tone because she hates when I call her "Woman." "Look at this video... there! Did you see it?" "What, the leaf?" she'll ask. At this point, she's probably pretty frustrated with the way I'm wasting her time. "Not a leaf, a tobacco flyer!" "That's great..." she says. Now she's blatantly ignoring me. "Tobacco flyer. Has a tail. Must be. Conspiracy. Jam It!" I'll babble. She'll look at me now, paying attention for the first time since she dismissed the flyer as a mere leaf. No doubt she'll see the way my eyes dart around wildly, searching for artifacts in the sky. She'll see that I haven't shaved in a week, growing a beard. She'll see the yellow hair, the pro-marijuana t-shirt, and the stone with a hole in it that I'll be clutching in my hands. And then she'll look me in the eyes and say, "THAT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE YOU RETARD!"

bstorer: BRILLIANT! Oh man take a bow! I mentioned our friend SS to my wife who knows nothing about computers other than "this is a power button, you press it like this" "ooooooh!" and his desktop search ideas and keyboard chaning for the fingerly challanged and she had a really good laugh :) Basically a person knowing next to nothing about computers (other than aim, youtube, msword [for writing and prining, god forbid she has to format something!], and uploading photos) not tainted by our "computer programmerness" thinks that to call SS a retard is an instalt to the retarded! SS have you considered therapy? Lots of it?

Of course it does. The only problem is that he hasn't pointed out a comet yet.

What if the aliens are looking for sentient life and believe that the lawnmowers are the intelligent life? The aliens probably see us as the termites or something of the planet.

Now that would be an odd encounter -- aliens attempting to communicate with the lawnmowers, which then promptly mulch them.

Better than the aliens attempting to communicated with Swampy.

SpectateSwamp: rc_pinchey:A friend of mine works in a nuclear power plant. I don't think he'd agree with your approach.
(Whitecourt is currently in an open debate about building a Nuclear Plant)
I hope your friend doesn't get a job around Whitecourt. Videoing One mushroom cloud. Then have an exact duplicate at the same spot 2 weeks later. And viewed by someone that isn't Crazy. That is a sign and a pretty big one. --- or two.
Wow, you seem to have completely ignored my $100 challenge. Okay, the challenge is off the table. All you had to do was say: "CodeSimian, I accept your $100 challenge." There was absolutely no risk on your part. I guess you are admitting that the keyboard does not beat the mouse in all circumstances, otherwise I'm sure you could've found someone who would be willing to stop using mice forever. SpectateSwamp: Don't be doing any video of beautiful clouds. If you play that footage back slowly. You might see something. Then what.
I don't know, he might feel compelled to spam 1001 random message boards with "proof" of his amazing "discovery"? He might spend the next couple decades of his life chasing aliens? He might become the laughingstock of all his family and friends?

Fly Expert wanted - how fast is it crawling?

You didn't show Her the vent stack high speed crawler did you. Crawling so fast that they can't be seen. I just finished making 51 jpg scene captures from the crawl video segment. Then played it back again with a 1/10 second delay between jpgs. Nothing new other that it was moving extremely fast up and about the vent pipe. Creepy isn't it. We need a Fly expert.

66mb file view 1:30.06 thru 1:31.25 for the fast moving object on the stack. http://www.archive.org/details/demo76-pict11
Just how fast is it crawling? Are they in your backyard? What do they feed on?

The tag says it's on sale for $4.99. Damn thats 50% cheaper than what I wanted to sell it for. Where in hell are you finding these deals Abby? Can I get a UFO (Unidentified Fly Overthere) that cheap?

eBay. You could probably get it even cheaper, but you have to wade through the keyword spam first.

I think that's extra. You have to check the fine print in the auctions themselves. They can be sneaky like that about the details.

You never know when you gona buy a fly and find out that SS does not think that its a UFO! Gota be careful there, or you might throw your money away.

SpectateSwamp:(Whitecourt is currently in an open debate about building a Nuclear Plant) Maybe that's what the mushroom clouds are warning you about? Perhaps they'll build one and it will have a meltdown in 2012. *runs like heck*
Ban FB and bring back MPS - he had a much cooler username! Legendary Threadlolwtf: Instead of comfy chair, package contained bobcat. Would not buy again. curtmack: It's like Godwin's Law, but instead of Hitler it's xkcd references. morbiuswilters: Right, but the Holocaust wasn't nearly as bad as xkcd.

Re: More play time with Swamp Search
SpectateSwamp:I'm sure there are quite a few jobs that can't be taught to an apprentice. I just didn't come across any in my career. And for passion. It should be easy to get their passion going. Try introducing a camcorder in the next training session. Make it fun. Swamp Search does video very very well.
THAT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE YOU RETARD.

Seriously, by now everyone should realize that nothing Swampy says is without significance (to him). If he mentions "Mushroom Clouds" and "Nuclear Plants" in the same thread, he has a damn good reason (from his point of view).

Re: Mushroom Clouds (Plural)
I couldn't remember whether the nuclear disaster his mushroom clouds were predicting was specifically tied to the open debate he'd parenthesised. Did he mention that detail specifically before? I certainly don't remember the nuclear plant being tied to the 2012 deal before. (I have read that quote about half a dozen times before now) Of course, he's more likely to cause the disaster himself by dancing and jamming it. @ZippoLag: I doubt he knows what a hadron is. Perhaps he'll seach it with SSDS? I fund it funny that he has to specify '(Plural)' after 'Clouds'
