How many of the following inventions, which made Spectate the man he is, are a result of "brawn over brains":

• digital camcorders
• digital cameras
• general purpose computing for the masses (video, pictures, etc.)
• Internet
• laptops

Hint to Swampy: your digital camcorder was not designed by 2 guys duking it out in the boxing ring.  Maybe the people who designed your camcorder were geeks, and maybe you could beat them up.  Who gives a fuck?  You should be thanking them, you ingrate.

What I find more interesting (and relevant), though, is Bill and Melinda's charity work.  They are using his billions of dollars to fight AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis.  Meanwhile, SpectateSwamp is contemplating dancing with his medicine stones to "curse cancer".

BTW, it is not just highly industrialized societies that destroy the environment.  If you read Jared Diamond's Collapse, you would see that lots of "primitive" societies (e.g. American Indians, Easter Island natives) were also destructive to their environment.  In fact, the Easter Islanders cut down all their trees.  Once there was no food left, they destroyed themselves in a cannibalistic war. In his book, he shows that most of ancient societies that collapsed, did so because they destroy their own environment.

Only difference is with modern technology, we are much more efficient at damaging the environment.

I bet you would like Jared Diamond, despite him being a university professor and all.  He likes the outdoors, like you, and he is very interested in native cultures, like you.
