Re: Unusual Wording Choice
No. You don't know what they were trying to say. They obviously picked up the entire room and put it in another room. If they didn't do that, why would they have said it like that?

Re: Unusual Wording Choice
Is it just me, or does the underline cover half of the space before "Room", and the entire space after "110"? How'd they manage that one?

Easy, they didn't put a space after the room.

For reference, see "The Case of the Vanishing Room", 1954, Peter Sellers, ,Harry Seacombe, Spike Milligan (The Goons). "Quick!! Follow That Room" "I am not charging you for staying in the room. I am charging for the room staying at this hotel."

OK, so I used that Google thingy to search for "DailyWTF memes" and got nothing useful. What's the deal with the mugs? I've seen lots of 'em in this Sidebar Forum, but I don't know where or how or why it all started.

Behold, the mug! and the mug thread!
This thread, however, is not mug-worthy IMO, even if the guy who made the sign wasn't a native english speaker. If you're teaching, you should know the difference between a "class" and a "room."

It's these losers' way of saying "we didn't laugh at this and we don't think it's worthy of our belligerence." It's a public forum though, so they can suck it.

Ah... elitist douchebags. Got it! Thanks for the info. LURK MOAR Seriously, you posted a hastily-written sign with a slightly unusual choice of wording. This is not funny or interesting or useful to anyone, anywhere, ever.

I've shown this to a lot of my coworkers and they all found it amusing. The ones with better imaginations chuckled harder. It's not ROTFLOL but it's not MFD.

You get bonus points if this was an english class.
"The world of technical support is like a reflecting pool. To those who exist outside, it appears to be a deep, mystical place; bottomless, terrifying, foreign. The truth, however, is that the pool is only about three feet deep, and the bottom is grainy silt over sharp, hurty rocks."

Don't worry too much Morbius has about the same credibility and level of contribution as Lysis. And that says a lot.

I think you've made over 500 posts since I registered and perhaps three were useful and insightful. You post replies that sound like trolling and then accuse everyone of not having a sense of humor. I'm still kind of hoping you are just a bug with Community Server that will be fixed in the next release. If not, I may be forced to write a Greasemonkey script to hide you away. Oh, and I can I get in on this hilarious signage action??
Saw this one at the STD clinic. Now, I get what they were trying to say, but one can't help but think there is a better way to say it. I mean, what is the doctor in? How dreadfully foolish of the doctor's staff to allow an oversight like this one! moar funny pictures

And you've had 12 posts with zero insightful posts. Are you hoping that if you put enough lolcat language in, that someone will eventually find it funny?

It's mostly 4chan memes, but I wouldn't expect someone with a soul to know that. The lolcat references were mostly ironic commentary on the inanity of posting a slightly goofy print-out on a technology forum. I never even imagined it would come to this, but you asshats insist on defending it as funny. I mean, what is this, engrish.com? Besides, JeffS is the one paying to attend this community college, and that's the Real WTF. If you're shocked by figurative speech like "the room has moved" then your head will 'asplode when you have to deal with real end users. I'd say I'm about 50/50 at this point. If you had bothered to ready any of my posts outside this thread, you might know that. I'll confess to being a jackass on this issue, but consider it retribution for self-righteous assholes like MPS. Sort of like the Allied firebombing of Dresden. Oh, and get back to work! I hate it when my fries get cold.

Re: Unusual Wording Choice
I know I've technically been a member here for a while, but I never post, only lurk. Therefore I may still be considered a newbie. That having been said, Lysis - Please, for the love of humanity, install a filter that goes between brain and keyboard before you spout the nonsense I see you clutter the boards up with. My post count may be low for being here this amount of time, but my brain hurts after reading most of your posts in these threads. EDIT: I also now realize the folly of posting this in a thread that hasn't been posted in since the beginning of the month. I feel sheepish. However, I have been reading the sidebar articles from most recent to past and felt compelled/inspired to come out of hiding for this. Please forgive me, everyone else.
