Where was I when I missed the grand forum avatar shuffle?

    Where was I when I missed the grand forum avatar shuffle?

    There seems to be a theme:

    PSWorx (PSworx)

      (dromed)

      (bstorer)

     I feel obligated to follow suit, as if this is what all the cool guys are doing.

    I can't speak for the others but I got the idea from just that guy. Remarkably, I can't remember his name either. Apparently his avatar outlived him.

    Is there some unwritten rule to the size/format of avatar images?  I tried to upload one, but evidently it didn't take.

    Those anonymous ones are 79x79 (perfect! wait! no it's not!), and maybe that's the max.

    Also, when I uploaded my new one, the image appeared to have changed in the avatar prefs, but I had to manually save the total prefs once more for it to actually take and keep and stick.

    Could try it.

    The output of avatar.aspx is always jpeg anyway, so I'm not sure that would make any difference.

    You CAN upload GIFs but the software seems to blur the picture horribly if you leave the converting up to it. So I'd recommend you upload it as JPEG right away, because then you can control the compression.

    My GIF looks about as bad here as it does on my hard drive.  It was originally 40x40 and I doubled it.

    I dunno. I was just playing around with avatars. And the shot in the head one didn't look quite right.

    I'm still debating whether or not to restore the shot in the head one or leave the Soviet flag one.

    Ah, this is where people are talking about the slightly modified avatars, and I tried created a whole new thread!  Guess that's what I get for skipping the WTF for a couple months.

    Well, if you do feel obligated to do it, i made the one i'm currently using in about 30 seconds. With mspaint.exe.

    With all the code written on here, at a glance this site just looks like a coder help forum rather than a way for me to kill time at work. So I decided to do my replicate avatar with the resources available here, namly mspaint. Looking like arse was the kind of effect I was trying to achieve.

     (quietly getting fed up of doing proffesional grade websites with school boy grade tools)

    Gifs are auto-converted to jpegs? That means no animated gifs, I guess. I was wondering why nobody had an animated avatar.
