Extremely Sade Childhood Memory

  • Back in the early years of the 1990s, my mom used to play Sade in her car. Sade was a Nigerian lady who emigrated to the UK and had a series of pop hits during that time. I would describe them as Rhythm & Blues. Her work bordered on Smooth Jazz, in my somewhat limited understanding of music genres. "Smooth Operator" might be a song that you remember if you're not extremely young. Really, though, her breakthrough album was good from start to finish, and my mom would play this in her Volvo. The Volvo was beige and was notable for being one of the first US cars to have an oxygen sensor.
